The SEC preseason media poll is a tradition of SEC Media Days. While one Power conference is scrapping its preseason poll, the SEC is carrying on.

Per John Talty of CBS Sports, a preseason media poll will be conducted next week at SEC Media Days. The confirmation comes after the Big 12 scrapped its poll.

It was reported in June that the Big 12 would not conduct a preseason poll at its media days, which are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday. Last year, Arizona State was voted 16th in the Big 12 preseason media poll and won the conference title to earn a spot in the College Football Playoff.

As mentioned by Talty, the Big Ten has not conducted an official preseason media poll since 2011. Cleveland.com has picked up the slack, conducting a B1G poll for each of the last 14 years, surveying 27 voters in 2024.

SEC Media Days are set to be held July 14-17 at the College Football Hall of Fame and Omni Hotel in Atlanta.
