Senior Bowl director, NFL Draft analyst impressed by Florida LB Jonathan Greenard’s Gators debut

On a night where Florida had many issues, pass rush was one of the bright spots for the Gators.
UF was the first SEC team in over a decade to record 10 sacks in a game. Redshirt senior Jonathan Greenard played a part in setting that record, recording 1.5 sacks as part of a six-tackle performance (three solo, three assisted, two for loss). Greenard’s Gators debut caught the eye of Senior Bowl director and NFL Draft analyst Jim Nagy.
“Biggest takeaway from last night’s #CampingWorldKickoff was the impressive play of @GatorsFB grad transfer OLB Jon Greenard. We left him off our @seniorbowl Watch List last week because we simply hadn’t seen enough ‘17 Louisville tape but Greenard is squarely on our radar now.💯,” Nagy wrote in a tweet.
Greenard arrived at Florida somewhat under-the-radar because he transferred from Louisville after missing all but one series of the 2018 season due to a wrist injury. He was the Cardinals’ co-leader in sacks (7) and leader in tackles for loss (15.5) in 2017. Greenard came to Florida to reunite with defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, who recruited him to Louisville.
A potential Senior Bowl invite could give Greenard a great opportunity to display his talents for NFL scouts and executives, though it appears he’ll have no trouble putting together a lengthy senior highlight reel thanks to Grantham’s aggressive scheme.
