The South Carolina Gamecocks entered Saturday’s game against Texas A&M on 3-game winning streak after some sputters toward the beginning of the season and extended that number of victories to 4 when they bested the Aggies, 30-24.
Running back Marshawn Lloyd was among the standouts in that game, rushing for 92 yards and 2 touchdowns. Head coach Shane Beamer was recently asked about the team’s progress and reflection on its rate of success, in addition to some other topics.
“It shouldn’t be a shock to us on the team to be where we are,” Beamer said. “As you continue to win the opportunities get bigger and bigger, the games get bigger and bigger.”
The performance by the Gamecocks excited many, including some potential high school prospects looking to choose where they will play college football at. Of course, Beamer didn’t name any names, but did say that got a call from a recruit in the early hours of the morning.
“I had a recruit call me at 2 a.m. he was so excited and wanted to talk to me about the game,” Beamer said. Luckily, I had just gotten home.”
Shane Beamer teleconference: All credit to Legette on the KO return. "We didn't block it great."
Legette's shoe came off at the 50. Still housed it. "One of the more remarkable plays I've ever seen."

The Gamecocks will look to continue to stay in the win column as they face the Missouri Tigers up next on the schedule.
