Shane Beamer gives injury update on Dylan Stewart, Jacarrius Peak after loss to Mississippi State

Shane Beamer had Dylan Stewart and Jacarrius Peak available for South Carolina‘s SEC opener against Mississippi State, the first time this season that the star edge rusher and NC State offensive line transfer had been able to play.
That’s not to say that either player was full-go. Stewart was out for the entire fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Peak played around 35 snaps in a backup role. According to the Post and Chronicle’s David Cloninger, Beamer said both players were “fine” during his Sunday teleconference.
Meanwhile, defensive tackle Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, running back Jabree Coleman, and defensive back Gerald Kilgore were among a group of players who were banged up against the Bulldogs. Beamer said that those players would be tested on Sunday but weren’t expected to be out “long-term.”
On the field, it was a tough day for the Gamecocks, who fell 41-34 at Williams-Brice Stadium despite holding a 16-0 second-quarter lead and outgaining the Bulldogs 431-393. LaNorris Sellers threw for 282 yards and two touchdowns — while adding 53 yards rushing on 14 carries — but threw a pair of interceptions.
But the South Carolina defense was picked apart by Kamario Taylor, who threw for four touchdowns and 251 yards. Fluff Bothwell had 21 carries for 115 yards.
