Shane Beamer gives injury update on Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy for Week 4 game at Alabama

After falling to Mississippi State to start SEC play, South Carolina will have a big hill to climb on Saturday. That’s when it travels to Alabama for a Week 4 contest at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Gamecocks will be taking the field for that one without Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy. According to The Post and Courier’s David Cloninger, Shane Beamer declared the defensive lineman out during his weekly “Carolina Calls” radio show on Thursday evening.
Brownlow-Dindy had to leave during Week 3’s game against the Bulldogs after suffering an upper-body injury and did not return. He was listed as doubtful on Wednesday’s initial availability report but is now set not to play against the Crimson Tide at all.
The fifth-year player, who joined the Gamecocks from Texas A&M ahead of the 2025 season, posted 18 tackles in his first season in Columbia. He has recorded just one tackle in three appearances in 2026.
While South Carolina will be missing Brownlow-Dindy, it will hope that Week 3’s loss to Mississippi State doesn’t snowball into yet another lost season. The Gamecocks enter Saturday’s game having lost their last five SEC games. They last beat an SEC opponent on September 27, 2025, a 35-13 win against Kentucky. In its last nine conference outings, South Carolina is just 1-8.
