Shane Beamer didn’t have any particularly interesting updates for Dylan Stewart or Jacarrius Peak on Thursday, but that’s not necessarily bad news for the Gamecocks. While speaking at South Carolina‘s local media day, Beamer said Peak and Stewart will not be practicing in full tomorrow but are still “on track” in their progression.
โSame situation with Peak and Dylan,โ Beamer said, via On3Sports. โThey wonโt be practicing in full tomorrow, but theyโre on track. Theyโve had good checkups, updates from doctors last week.โ

Beamer has mentioned that he’s looking for Peak and Stewart to be ready by the time the season kicks off in September against Kent State. Peak, who transferred in from NC State following an All-ACC season, suffered a knee injury while playing pickup basketball in February. Stewart’s ailment, on the other hand, stems from a back injury he played through last year.
For different reasons, their health is of the utmost importance for Beamer’s 7th season in Columbia.
Beamer also mentioned that redshirt freshman linebacker Josh Smith will miss the start of preseason camp. In addition, redshirt freshman wide receiver Jackson Repp will miss the season after suffering an offseason injury.
