Shazz Preston said his college decision came down to LSU and Alabama, but in the end, the 4-star wide receiver out of Saint James, Louisiana (St. James) chose the Crimson Tide in an announcement aired live on ESPN2.

Preston is the No. 3 wide receiver in this class, and the No. 4 player in the state of Louisiana, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is listed as 6 foot and 190 pounds. He spoke about how the LSU coaching change impacted his decision.

“It changed a lot because a lot of things weren’t really staying, so Alabama was the next best thing,” Preston said on ESPN2.

Earlier in the week, Preston told WVUE-8 how the process has played out.

โ€œThey battling it out,” he said. “On the field and off the field. Itโ€™s exciting. I appreciate those programs taking the time out. Even all those other programs taking the time out. Just giving me positive impact during this process. Because this isnโ€™t easy, not everybody can do it. Itโ€™s a blessing to be in the position I am. Itโ€™s interesting, itโ€™s fun. I enjoyed it, sometimes things need to come to an end.”
