The lack of a full-time head coach isn’t stopping Auburn from making moves on the first day of the Early Signing Period.
Armani Diamond had been committed to Louisiana Tech but the Blount (Eight Mile, Alabama) standout signed with AU Wednesday. Ben Thomas, who covers high school sports in the Mobile area for Alabama Media Group, broke the news.
A teammate of 4-star defensive tackle Lee Hunter, Diamond is listed at 5-11, 171 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, he is rated 3-stars, the No. 56 recruit in Alabama, No. 114 cornerback and No. 1,348 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2021.
Diamond also had offers from Southern Miss and UAB. He recently played in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game.
