Social media can be unforgiving in an athlete’s worst moments or worst days, but then there is the flip side.

There is the first half that LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt played on Saturday afternoon at Auburn, when Leavitt lit up the Tigers’ defense for 3 touchdown passes and another touchdown on the ground to help LSU to a hearty 31-10 halftime lead on the Plains.

Leavitt wasn’t perfect in the first 30 minutes of the Week 8 SEC showdown — it just seemed that way. He completed 21 of 27 passes for 261 yards and those 3 scoring strikes with 0 interceptions. Even when Leavitt did appear to throw an interception, it was reviewed and overturned, being called an incomplete pass instead.

Everything was going right for Leavitt in the first half on Saturday, and for good measure he added a 4-yard touchdown run with 17 seconds left in the second quarter to give No. 18 LSU that commanding 31-10 lead at the break.

Things haven’t gone so smoothly all season for Leavitt, who came into Saturday with 8 interceptions already. It looked like he had thrown his ninth pick of 2026, but it was overturned, and Leavitt and his teammates went into the locker room feeling pretty good about themselves.

Here is just a sampling of the social media love that Leavitt was getting after that magical first half:

With Leavitt leading LSU to a big halftime lead, the road Tigers looked to be on their way to a win against the Auburn Tigers. But there was still a half to go, and here is what the Kalshi market is currently saying about LSU’s chances to finish the game off on the Plains:
