One week after South Carolina upset Auburn, the Gamecocks had momentum coming into the game against LSU. Then the Tigers started a freshman quarterback in T.J. Finley and still put up big numbers for a three-touchdown lead over South Carolina at halftime.

LSU rang up 330 yards for a 31-10 lead at halftime, as South Carolina gave up 18 first downs. Meanwhile, South Carolina was 0-for-4 on third downs.

It brought out frustration by the Gamecock fan base.
