Is it possible that the SEC could play the 2020 season while the Pac-12 and potentially other conferences opt not to play?

That’s what South Carolina AD Ray Tanner suggested could be a possibility during a talk with the school’s board of trustees recently.

Per Josh Kendall of The Athletic, Tanner said it might be left up to the conferences to make their own decisions about the 2020 season:

Obviously, it’s still early on in the decision-making process, and schools and conferences don’t have to make a final decision yet, but Tanner’s comments are still interesting.

We’ll see over the coming weeks and months which way conferences are trending for the 2020 season.
