A newcomer to Cornelius (North Carolina) Hough High School for his senior season, Dobson is listed as measuring 6-1 and 185 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Dobson is rated 5-stars, the No. 1 player in North Carolina, No. 3 cornerback and No. 17 prospect overall in the Class of 2027.
As a top-20 overall recruit, Dobson drew notable interest. His collection of 31 scholarship offers included Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mizzou, North Carolina, NC State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas.
For Wednesday’s big decision, though, it came down to South Carolina, Texas A&M and Michigan. The former Fort Mill Catawba Ridge product is returning to South Carolina to play college football. He committed on Wednesday to Shane Beamer‘s Gamecocks.
