South Carolina is opening its 2022 season with a home game tonight against Georgia State.

With the new football season finally having arrived, the home crowd at Williams–Brice Stadium was fired up before kick off ahead of Shane Beamer’s second season in Columbia.

And new at the stadium for the South Carolina fans to enjoy were new lights, which were turned on shortly before the game got underway.

The new LED lights were installed during the spring in an effort to help improve fan experience at home games and offer both white and garnet colors.

As for the game itself, South Carolina and Georgia State are scoreless midway through the opening quarter.
