South Carolina game delayed by incredible rain storm

South Carolina hosted Towson on Saturday night as the Gamecocks were looking to move to 2-0. Things were looking good for the Gamecocks early, as Vicari Swain tied a school record for career punt-return touchdowns to give the Gamecocks an early 7-0 lead.
The Gamecocks have been in control ever since, but Mother Nature made its presence felt as the game was put in a weather delay because of a storm that featured a torrential downpour:

The ultimate reason why the game went into a delay was because of lightning, which has caused many delays across the country on Saturday.
Quarterback LaNorris Sellers has thrown for only 88 yards in the game, but he showcased his talent early in the third quarter as he scored a 58-yard rushing touchdown to put the Gamecocks up 24-3.
With the delay, there has to be 30 consecutive minutes without a lightning strike for the game to be able to restart. Kickoff time isn’t currently known, but the weather radar has shown that this game could be delayed for a while.
South Carolina will be in action in Week 3 in its SEC opener when the Gamecocks host the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
