South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers was battling injuries against Texas A&M, to the point where coach Shane Beamer was worried about his quarterback’s health at halftime. However, Sellers stayed in the entire game, helping the Gamecocks hang on and take down Texas A&M in front of a home crowd, 17-9.

Sellers has been outstanding during the Gamecocks now four-game winning streak, but Saturday’s performance was more about willing his team to a victory. He finished the game 20 of 31 for 251 yards and a touchdown, while adding another 34 yards and a score on the ground.

It wasn’t a perfect performance by the Gamecocks, as they gave the Aggies multiple opportunities to win. Texas A&M drove the full length of the field in a shortened 2-minute drill, facing 4th and Goal from the 9-yard line on the final play of the game. Reed’s final attempt sailed incomplete, sealing South Carolina‘s victory.

The Gamecocks’ season appeared to be all but over just a few weeks ago, as they were 2-3 after consecutive losses against Mississippi State and Kentucky in which they blew consecutive leads of at least 16 points.

However, behind Sellers’ incredible play recently, the Gamecocks still have a path to the College Football Playoff, albeit a narrow one. The Gamecocks have a huge game against Georgia looming in two weeks following Week 11’s matchup against Arkansas.
