ESPN’s College GameDay parked its set on the Horseshoe in ‘famously hot’ Columbia, S.C. last time Georgia traveled to Williams-Brice Stadium to take on the Gamecocks in 2012, a nationally-ranked primetime battle pitting two of the nation’s top six teams.

It appears everyone’s preferred pre-game show may once again be coming to the Gamecocks’ city for the early-season Eastern Division rivalry if both teams are unbeaten heading into their Sept. 13 bout.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Richard Deitsch, who recently chatted with GameDay’s executive producer Lee Fitting, โ€œIf Georgia and South Carolina are undefeated for Week Three, it is a near-lock GameDay will be in Columbia, S.C., for that game.”

South Carolina’s hosted GameDay six times in school history including a memorable 35-21 victory over top-ranked Alabama in 2010.
