South Carolina’s opening drives against Tennessee went just about as well as Shane Beamer and Kendal Briles could ask. LaNorris Sellers has the Gamecocks up 14-0 on No. 11 Tennessee in Columbia.
The Gamecocks, well-rested after a bye week, went 75 yards on 10 plays to get things started. Sellers was 6-of-7 passing for 57 yards on the first South Carolina offensive possession. He also rushed once for 12 yards.
On 1st-and-15 from the Tennessee 17-yard line, Sellers found Mazeo Bennett Jr. in the backfield, and Bennett saw an open path to the end zone, putting 6 on the board. Malik Orsan was true on the point-after attempt to put the Gamecocks up by 7 early.
