Out of Richmond (Virginia) Hugenot High School, Cain is currently listed as measuring 6-feet and 178 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Cain is rated 3-stars, the No. 8 player in Virginia, No. 62 wide receiver and No. 436 prospect overall in the Class of 2028.
It’s early in the 2028 recruiting cycle, but Cain has already picked up scholarship offers from multiple Power 5 programs. In addition to South Carolina, his offer list also features Kentucky, Syracuse and Virginia Tech.
Cain pointed to a tight bond with his future position coach, Mike Furrey, for leading him to commit to South Carolina.
“From the first day, from the moment I met Coach Furrey, we created that bond,” Cain told Brian Dohn of 247Sports. “They are more than just coaches for me. They made sure I am good outside of football. They talk to me almost every day. We are building great bonds together.
“They’ve been saying, ‘This is a kid we really want’ since my first time coming in, which was the summer before my sophomore year.”
South Carolina now has 2 pledges for 2028. He joins fellow wideout Joseph Gibbs, who committed on Wednesday.
