Well, that didn’t last long. Four-star wide receiver Jaiden Kelly-Murray announced on Monday that he will not attend South Carolina just one month after committing to the Gamecocks on March 13.

The Mount Pleasant, South Carolina native holds offers from 40 schools, including Virginia Tech — which is considered a frontrunner by 247Sports with a crystal ball projected to the Hokies. Kelly-Murray has an official visit to Virginia Tech planned for May 29.

As you can see above, Murray-Kelly stands at 5-11 and 177 pounds. He attends Oceanside Collegiate Academy and is considered a 4-star prospect in the Class of 2027. According to 247Sports, Murray-Kelly is considered to be the No. 246 overall prospect in the Class of 2027, as well as the No. 35 WR and No. 6 player out of South Carolina.

This is beginning to be a worrying trend for Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks, who have now lost 2 commitments in the Class of 2027 across the past 3 days. Four-star CB Aamaury Fountain announced on Saturday that he would flip his commitment from South Carolina to Florida.

As it currently stands, the Gamecocks have just 2 commitments remaining in the Class of 2027 — 3-star safety Jernard Albright and 3-star QB Jerry Meyer III.
