South Carolina reportedly loses LB/edge rusher to transfer portal

South Carolina has undergone some roster turnover since the end of the 2021 season, and that continued on Thursday.
LB/edge rusher Sean McGonigal is reportedly the latest Gamecock to enter the transfer portal.
David Cloninger of The Post and Courier broke the news via Twitter on Thursday afternoon:
South Carolina LB/Edge Sean McGonigal is in the transfer portal.

Of course, entering your name into the portal doesn’t mean you have to transfer. Some guys have removed their names over the course of this offseason.
McGonigal started his South Carolina career as a walk-on linebacker before moving to fullback in 2020. He was an edge rusher in 2021. He appeared in 6 games during his South Carolina career, recording 1 total tackle.
