One of the big games this Saturday in the SEC is the matchup between Vanderbilt and South Carolina, happening at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina. The Gamecocks announced their game uniforms for the conference opener, bringing out a combo of garnet helmets, garnet jerseys and white pants.
Vanderbilt enters the game 2-0 with wins against Charleston Southern and a massive victory against Virginia Tech on the road in Blacksburg. The Gamecocks will look good if they want to pull off the win.
South Carolina is 2-0 and has a win against Virginia Tech and a win against South Carolina State. The Gamecocks’ hopes in this game will rely heavily on the shoulders of LaNorris Sellers under center because there is a big chance this turns into a shootout with Diego Pavia on the other side of the field.
This game also represents a massive turning point opportunity for both schools. Each school has started the year with a solid win, but with their first conference game, this represents an opportunity to make a statement to the rest of the conference in early September. The Gamecocks have the home-field advantage, but if anyone has watched the Vanderbilt Commodores with Diego Pavia, you should know that does not matter much to him.
The game kicks off at 7:45 p.m. ET on the SEC Network, and the crowd will be rocking on Saturday night.
