Several media outlets have reported that South Carolina junior wideout Shaq Roland did not travel with the team for Saturday’s game against Kentucky.
Thought to be a breakout performer on the outside, Roland has sputtered to a 15-catch, 180-yard start through five games, disappearing at times within the Gamecocks offense. He has scored two touchdowns this season.
Roland missed three games as a sophomore after serving a suspension for a violation of university policy.
Senior Damiere Byrd is expected to start in Roland’s place Saturday night.
