Auburn wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. is good to go against No. 11 Oklahoma this week. Singleton was initially listed as questionable on Wednesday’s availability report but was upgraded to probable on the Thursday night update.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel confirmed Thursday night that Singleton will, in fact, play on Saturday.
After Tuesday’s practice earlier in the week, Singleton said, “I’m good. I feel great.” Singleton suffered a minor hip pointer injury in Auburn’s Week 3 win against South Alabama.
This is huge news for the Tigers, who will be looking to make a statement this week with a win over a top-ranked opponent. Singleton has been quarterback Jackson Arnold’s favorite weapon so far this season.
Singleton, a Georgia Tech transfer, has played in all 3 games for the Tigers this season. He has 13 receptions for 149 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also carrying the ball 5 times for 25 yards. He leads all receivers with 2 touchdowns and is tied for the most receiving yards on the Tigers with Cam Coleman.
Before transferring to Auburn, Singleton was a star wide receiver with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. In his freshman year, Singleton hauled in 48 receptions for 714 yards and 6 touchdowns. He followed that up with 56 receptions for 754 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Kickoff between the Tigers and the Sooners is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. OU is a 7-point favorite, per the latest odds from DraftKings.
