Stetson Bennett was reportedly having discussions with reps at the Reese’s Senior Bowl about participating in the 2023 event, but he has seemingly decided against it.

The former Georgia quarterback will not participate in the Senior Bowl, according to OutKick’s Trey Wallace. Instead, he’ll focus on prep for the NFL Scouting Combine. Bennett had not yet been invited to the game, but the event’s director, Jim Nagy, said Monday they were working on adding him to the roster.

That means the two-time national champion has worn the Bulldogs helmet for the last time.

Bennett ended his career with a bang. The Manning Award winner led the Bulldogs to a second consecutive national championship with a historic beatdown of TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship. Bennett tied a CFP record with 6 total touchdowns (4 passing, 2 rushing) as Georgia’s offense piled up 615 total yards.

It was the largest margin of victory in bowl game history and made the Bulldogs the first repeat champions in the CFP era.

Bennett threw for 8,428 yards and 66 touchdowns while at Georgia. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. said Wednesday Bennett could hear his name called in the third round of this April’s NFL Draft.
