Texas came up with a much-needed 34-27 win over Ole Miss on Saturday night, a victory that came in front of the Longhorns’ home crowd,

But the UT faithful were a talking point before and after the game, as the atmosphere was still electric at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium but home fans were under fire for having sold many tickets beforehand.

Head coach Steve Sarkisian took note of that, and he made sure to both compliment and chide his fan base for their efforts this past week.

“What an amazing atmosphere & energy DKR was again,” Sarkisian said during a postgame press conference. “And for those fans that sold their tickets, they missed a hell of a game tonight.”

Clearly some Longhorn fans were unhappy with the team’s 4-2 record heading into this weekend’s game, and thus they opted to sell their tickets to some Ole Miss visitors who were likely taking in Austin for the first time.

Of course, a victory over the Rebels is exactly what Texas needed to stop that ticket-selling trend from growing, and Sarkisian shouldn’t need to poke at his fan base this week when UT welcomes Mississippi State to town.

Beyond that game, the Longhorns will also host Arkansas for their home finale on Nov. 21.
