Steve Sarkisian talks Texas injuries ahead of ranked showdown at Mizzou
Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns are eyeing a grueling November slate of games as they look to avoid a pivotal third loss and keep their College Football Playoff hopes intact.
But to do so, the team will have to tread water without some of its key contributors.
Texas wrapped up a 3-game homestand with a comfortable win over Mississippi State on Saturday night, but coming out of the weekend, there are some notable injuries to report. Wide receiver Cam Coleman, defensive back Graceson Littleton, running back Hollywood Smothers and a handful of others are all dealing with ailments heading into the final quarter of the regular season.
Following Saturday’s game, Sarkisian addressed the injury concerns and how he and his staff will handle them throughout November.
“Big picture, November is obviously a critical month…I do think that the connectivity of this team can help from having gone into a place like Neyland Stadium and seeing what that was like,” Steve Sarkisian said. “We need to really pack all three phases when we go on the road in this league.”
To that point, 3 of Texas’ final 4 games will occur away from home, with the team having to visit Missouri and LSU in back-to-back weeks, then hosting rivals Arkansas before visiting Texas A&M for an even bigger rivalry clash.
