When it comes to the latest NCAA transfer portal news, Mississippi State’s loss could soon be Florida’s gain.

That’s because rising senior offensive lineman Stewart Reese has entered the portal. News of Reese’s decision to enter the transfer database was first reported by Thomas Goldkamp of 247Sports.

Should Reese decide to leave Mississippi State’s program, he would be eligible immediately at his next stop as he would be a graduate transfer.

Reese has several ties to Florida’s program, including the fact he signed to play for Dan Mullen and offensive line coach John Hevesy at Mississippi State and his younger brother David is a linebacker on the Gator roster. There was speculation that Reese may leave Mississippi State for Florida during the previous offseason but that obviously didn’t happen.

In addition to starting each of his three seasons in Starkville, Reese has been named a member of the SEC’s Academic Honor Roll every year of his collegiate career.

Given Florida’s issues on the offensive line at times during the 2019 season, Reese would likely be an upgrade at a position of need in Gainesville should he choose to play for Mullen for the second time during his career.
