One of the top athletes in the class of 2027 is nearing a decision in his recruitment.
According to Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, 4-star athlete Tae Walden Jr. is set to announce his commitment on July 1. He also named 5 finalists, including 4 from the SEC: Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Auburn and Oregon.

Walden is one of top recruits in the nation for the 2027 cycle. He’s currently regarded as the No. 67 overall player and the No. 6 athlete in the country for this class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. Walden is also the No. 4 player from Tennessee.
Walden is the son of Erik Walden, a former Middle Tennessee State linebacker who went on to have an NFL career. Walden recorded 356 tackles in the NFL and was a member of the Green Bay Packers when they won Super Bowl XLV.
Walden could play on either side of the ball at the next level as a cornerback or a wide receiver. He’s currently listed at 6-foot-2, 165 pounds.
He attends Collierville High School in Collierville, Tennessee.
