Hot on the heels of debuting its new third down song, Tennessee is now selling “Third Down for What?” t-shirts.  The university has created t-shirts with the slogan and will begin selling them in its bookstores adjacent to Neyland Stadium before Saturday’s game against Arkansas State.

This past Sunday, Tennessee started a new tradition at Neyland Stadium. When the Volunteers’ opponents had the ball facing third down, Neyland Stadium’s speakers blasted a modified version of Lil Jon’s hit “Turn Down for What”, but rather “Third Down for What”.

The song was chosen by Tennessee’s players and given the seal of approval by head coach Butch Jones.

“We all picked that song,” wide receiver Von Pearson said. “We all know what time it is when that song comes on.

“We’ve got to go hard and get that third down or first down.”

There isn’t a specific prediction in sales numbers, but if last week’s game is any indication, the shirts should be pretty popular
