Tennessee now needs to schedule just one more matchup for the 2028 season. In addition to their battle against the Chippewas, the Vols are set to play a 9-game SEC schedule and will also face West Virginia Sept. 2 in the Dukeโs Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Next season’s matchup against Central Michigan will be the first meeting between the Vols and their MAC foe. Across Tennessee’s history, the Vols are 11-0 against MAC programs.
The Vols’ conference schedule, like all SEC schedules, is set to be tough. Tennessee will host Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, and Texas A&M with away matchups set against Auburn, LSU, Texas and Vanderbilt.
