The Third Saturday in October will feature a little extra fall foliage in 2026 and 2027.
On Wednesday, Tennessee and Alabama announced that they will each be wearing their home jerseys for their matchups this season and next. Alabama is set to wear its home crimson at Neyland Stadium in 2026 while Tennessee will wear its home orange at Bryant-Denny Stadium in 2027.
This is the first time since 1970 that the Third Saturday in October will feature its classic look.
For the first time in a long time, the Third Saturday in October is competitive again. The Vols and Crimson Tide have split the last 4 matchups, a nice change of pace after Alabama dominated the rivalry under Nick Saban.
The home team has triumphed in this rivalry ever since Josh Heupel took over for the Volunteers. Tennessee snapped a 15-game losing streak to Alabama in 2022 and proved it wasn’t a fluke in 2024, but Alabama took the 3 latest matchups in Tuscaloosa by scores of 52-24 (2021), 34-20 (2023) and 37-20 last season.
This season, the Vols and Crimson Tide are set to face off on October 17 from Neyland Stadium.
