Tennessee baseball picked up a big win over No. 4 Texas on Friday night.

In doing so, the Volunteers made a huge leap up the RPI leaderboard to No. 30 overall โ€” a 6-spot jump that was the biggest improvement for any team following Friday’s action.

Here’s a summary of the biggest movers โ€” in both directions โ€” in RPI via 11Point7:

After a slow start to the season in their first campaign since Tony Vitello’s departure, the Vols appear to still be in line for an NCAA Tournament appearance. Josh Elander’s team is at No. 11 in Saturday Down South’s latest SEC Baseball power rankings.

Tennessee‘s placement in the top 30 suggests the Vols shouldn’t have sweat out selection day provided it can play well down the stretch. The Vols’ win over the Longhorns on Friday is certainly a step in the right direction.

Tennessee still has 2 more games against the Longhorns before taking on a tournament-bound Oklahoma team in Oklahoma City to close out the regular season. After that, it’s on to Hoover for the SEC Tournament.

The NCAA Tournament selection show is set for May 25.
