Tennessee defensive back Qua Moss appeared on Friday night’s injury report and is considered questionable for Week 5’s matchup against the Auburn Tigers. The Kansas State transfer is currently in concussion protocol.

Moss is one of a few Vols whose status is in question heading into Saturday’s game. Vols interior offensive lineman Sham Umarov is also considered questionable, while running back Javin Gordon is considered doubtful.

Moss primarily plays the nickelback position and returns punts for the Volunteers, and he was a key piece in last week’s matchup against Texas. Tennessee wound up losing to the No. 1 team in the country, but Moss scored the Vols’ first touchdown of the game by returning a punt to inject some energy into the home crowd.

He’s had a good start to the 2026 campaign, sitting at 16 tackles and a pass deflection through the first few weeks of the season. Moss had only really been tested once during last week’s matchup against the Longhorns.

Tennessee needs Saturday’s game in a big way. The Vols offense looked putrid against Texas, and Josh Heupel will certainly be called into question if his former offensive coordinator walks in and beats him inside Neyland Stadium.

Saturday’s game is set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET.
