Tennessee fans are absolutely ruthless. And we really don’t need to dive deep into the history of their hate of Alabama athletics.
No, they show it off perfectly well. Want a perfect example? How about mocking Alabama football head coach Kalen DeBoer with the FSU War Chant during his on-field segment on College GameDay Saturday morning?
The video speaks for itself.
Of course, this is a perfect troll by Tennessee fans because of Alabama’s anticlimactic opening-season loss to Florida State. The Seminoles won just 2 games last season, and while they seem to be vastly improved, Alabama was championed by many as the eventual SEC champions preseason.
What was brutal about that game wasn’t necessarily the loss. You can respect a hard-fought losing effort against a good team. The Seminoles certainly seem to be pretty good, at least. What you can’t respect, and what Alabama showed the entirety of Week 1, is an embarrassing lack of effort. Defenders jogging, Tommy Castellanos dominating and Alabama subverting expectations so drastically is unacceptable in Tuscaloosa, and they Tide faithful have voiced their displeasure with DeBoer for allowing it to happen.
Tennessee fans were happy to remind him of that with the War Chant Saturday morning.
