Tennessee LB to miss entire 2026 season, per report

Tennessee’s defense has taken another hit.
According to a report from Volquest’s Austin Price, Tennessee linebacker Jaedon Harmon is expected to miss the entire 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL in practice on Saturday. This news comes just days after Miami transfer CB Jadais Richard was declared out for this upcoming season as he deals with an upper body injury.
Tennessee should be able to navigate Harmon’s injury easier than Richard’s. Harmon was set to be part of an absolutely stacked linebacker room that includes Arion Carter, Jadon Perlotte, Edwin Spillman, Jeremiah Telander and Penn State transfer Amare Campbell, who is likely to start alongside Carter. Don’t forget promising freshmen TJ White and Brayden Rouse, either.
With that said, Harmon’s injury could put some slight strain on the Vols’ trip to Atlanta in Week 2. Arion Carter will miss Tennessee’s matchup against Georgia Tech after being suspended by the NCAA last week. Regardless, Campbell, Perlotte, Telander and Spillman should be plenty comfortable handling the load with 2 Vols LBs out.
Obviously, this is a major setback for Harmon. The former Alabama commit totaled 19 tackles with 1 pass deflection and 0.5 sacks his freshman year and was primed for a step up in 2026.
