Tennessee is going into enemy territory in Week 5 for a showdown with a Mississippi State team that’s 4-0 and seeking to start its SEC slate with a victory.

For 15th-ranked Tennessee, the trip to Starkville will be a chance to even its SEC record after that devastating overtime home loss to Georgia in Week 3. Josh Heupel‘s team blew out UAB at home last week to bounce back and get to 3-1, and on the eve of Saturday’s game Tennessee named 4 captains who will try to lead the Vols to victory in the 4:15 p.m. ET kickoff on SEC Network.

Those quartet of captains in orange will include junior long snapper Bennett Brady, senior defensive lineman Bryson Eason, junior offensive lineman Lance Heard and junior linebacker Jeremiah Telander.

Tennessee football’s social media account celebrated the captain selections for Saturday with this post:

Telander has 19 tackles this season, 8 of them solo, and 1 interception. Eason has 12 tackles so far this year, 2 of them solo, and a fumble recovery. Both of the Vols’ defensive players will try to help shut down a Mississippi State offense that has put up 38 and 63 points in its past 2 games, respectively, albeit against Northern Illinois and Alcorn State.

Regardless, Tennessee knows it can’t fall into an 0-2 hole in the SEC, so Saturday’s game will be crucial in getting back on track in conference play.
