Tennessee went to JUCO to find its latest defensive lineman commit Jamal Wallace.

Here’s his announcement:

Wallace attended Sierra College over the last 2 seasons. He accounted for 45 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery during that time. He listed at 6-foot-2, 302 pounds.

The Volunteers have needed some help between the trenches after losing pass rusher Tyler Baron to the transfer portal.

There are still some pass rushers committed to Josh Heupel in the 2024 class, however. The Vols have commits from 5-star edge rusher Jordan Ross and 3-star defensive linemen Kellen Lindstrom and Carson Gentle.

Tennessee faces Iowa in the Citrus Bowl after winning 8 regular season games in 2023. The Volunteers and Hawkeyes haven’t played each other in football since the 2015 TaxSlayer Bowl.
