Tennessee is reportedly down a defensive lineman to transfer portal after Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports reported that the Vols’ Jordan Phillips had entered the NCAA transfer portal.
He saw action in 3 games for the Vols in 2022, registering 1 tackle in the season finale against the Vanderbilt Commodores. He will be immediately eligible to play at his next landing spot with 4 years of eligibility remaining after using his redshirt this past season.
Phillips was listed as a 3-star prospect and ranked as the No. 51 defensive lineman in the 2022 class by 247Sports. He was also the No. 651 overall player in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite for the class rankings.
It will be interesting to see where he lands next and how much of an impact he can have with a lot of time left to prove his potential.
