Terrion Arnold weighs in on Nick Saban retirement rumors: ‘Coach Saban ain’t going nowhere’

Nick Saban is one of college football’s most senior active coaches and has achieved legendary status, finding success at multiple stops over a decorated career. There are regular rumors about Saban retiring to end his Alabama tenure, but Terrion Arnold isn’t putting any stock in them.

Arnold visited WJOX’s “3 Man Front” on Wednesday. The Alabama defensive back weighed in on Saban’s future, offering a strong take on the retirement rumors.

“I wouldn’t even try to hype myself and make myself believe something like that,” Arnold said. “Coach Saban ain’t going nowhere. He gonna die coaching. That’s borderline. Like, he always says he’ll stop coaching when becomes a liability to it. I don’t think he’ll be a liability to coaching until he gone.”

Saban turned 72 on Halloween. Among active FBS coaches, only North Carolina’s Mack Brown is older than Saban. Brown is older by just over 2 months, with a birthday of Aug. 27, 1951.

Though Saban fell short of picking up national championship No. 8, he hasn’t lost his touch when it comes to stocking up on talent for years to come. Alabama’s 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 2 nationally on the 247Sports Composite.
