Report: Joe Tessitore to become new voice of ESPN’s Monday Night Football

On Friday night, a report surfaced that ESPN play-by-play man Sean McDonough was leaving Monday Night Football and returning to the college game.
As it turns out, he reportedly has a big-name replacement.
College football announcer Joe Tessitore is reportedly McDonough’s replacement as the next voice of Monday Night Football, according to the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand:

After arriving in 2002, Tessitore’s rise at ESPN has certainly been an impressive one. He was the lead play-by-play man on the Saturday night primetime game for ESPN’s college football game of the week.
Tessitore also appeared on a variety of the network’s college football platforms, and has been calling the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament in St. Louis all week. Most recently, he had the call on Collin Sexton’s game-winning buzzer-beater to knock off Texas A&M on Thursday in the second round of the SEC Tournament.
If Tessitore is indeed stepping away from the college game, his voice will certainly be missed in college football. He’s had some legendary calls over the years.
