Texas just landed a blue-chip offensive line recruit.
According to Rivals, the Longhorns have earned a commitment from 4-star offensive lineman Brian Swanson. He held offers from numerous other top programs, but is set on playing college football for Steve Sarkisian in Austin.

Swanson is a highly-regarded recruit in the class of 2027. He’s the No. 177 overall player and the No. 17 offensive tackle in the nation for the 2027 cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Swanson is a Texas native. He attends South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas and listed at 6-foot-5, 315 pounds. Per the Composite rankings, Swanson is the No. 25 player from the Lone Star State.
Texas is now up to 15 commits in the class of 2027. The group is led by 5-star receiver Easton Royal, who has been committed to the Longhorns since November of 2025. Eight of UT’s 15 commits are from the state of Texas. The Longhorns signed 13 Texas-based prospects during the 2026 high school recruiting cycle.
