The Texas A&M Aggies are already licking wounds following their Week 3 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats. Unfortunately, they’re now adding injury to insult after the disheartening defeat.
On Monday, head coach Mike Elko revealed wide receiver Terry Bussey would miss the rest of the 2026 season with a lower-body injury. The third-year Aggie suffered his ailment on the opening kickoff of Saturday’s game.
Bussey had the second-most receiving yards on Texas A&M’s roster entering Week 3. Mario Craver, the team’s top returning receiver from 2025, saw a heavy target load in Bussey’s absence, making 11 receptions for 119 yards against the Wildcats. Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton, who hauled in five passes for 61 yards on Saturday, should also see an uptick in opportunities.

Ashton Bethel-Roman would seem to be the most likely Aggie to fill Bussey’s physical void. The junior wideout’s 503 yards in 2025 were second to Craver amongst returning players, but he has just two receptions through three games in 2026. Kelshaun Johnson and Aaron Gregory are other names to watch in the receiving corps.
Texas A&M doesn’t have much time to sort through its options. The Aggies head to Baton Rouge this weekend to face the LSU Tigers in a matchup of 2-1 squads with College Football Playoff expectations. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. E.T. (ABC) on Saturday, Sept. 26.
