Texas A&M secured a pair of key 4th-quarter turnovers to pull away from Arizona State as the Aggies thumped the Sun Devils for a 48-20 win in College Station. Mike Elko‘s squad improves to 2-0 with its first Power 4 victory of 2026.
Arizona State came to Kyle Field unranked, but Kenny Dillingham’s squad was able to hang with the No. 10 Aggies deep into the 4th quarter. Texas A&M, though, ultimately proved to be too much for the Sun Devils on both sides of the ball.
The A&M defense did not have its most productive day offensively, but Marcel Reed came up with big plays when needed to make sure A&M never trailed. Arizona State managed to keep the difference within single digits until Reed connected with Isaiah Horton on a perfect throw and outstanding catch. The touchdown reception made it 24-13 after a successful extra point.

A&M’s 24-13 lead, however, did not last long. Arizona State needed just 2 minutes and 14 seconds to run a 5-play, 75-yard scoring drive that was capped by Cutter Boley connecting with Reed Harris for a 58-yard touchdown.
Boley and Harris had 2 touchdowns on the day. Unfortunately for the Sun Devils, Boley as threw 2 interceptions as part of a 4-turnover day for Arizona State. A&M managed 17 points off those turnovers.
It was an ASU implosion in the 4th quarter at Kyle Field. Arizona State trailed 31-20 with the ball before Marco Jones snagged a pick-6 to extend the lead to 38-20.

Trailing 41-20, Boley threw another pick-6 that turned what was once a close game into a full-on blowout before the final whistle.
