They’re roasting gators in College Station.
That’s not commentary on Saturday’s matchup between No. 5 Texas A&M and Florida. Rather, not yet. Aggie fans certainly hope that will be the case, though. And in anticipation of the SEC battle at Kyle Field on Saturday night, several Aggie fans set up a barbecue booth.
On the menu? Rotisserie-style gator.
The Aggies (5-0, 2-0 SEC) are looking to match the 2016 season for the best start to a year this century. That 2016 squad is the only Aggie team since 1995 to start a season 6-0.
Standing in the way of that pursuit is a Florida Gators squad that just revived its season a week ago by knocking off what was then a top-10 Texas team. The Gators ended a 3-game losing streak with a 29-21 win. Knocking off another highly-ranked squad from the Lone Star State would certainly help Billy Napier’s job security.
A&M won last year’s meeting in Gainesville, 33-20. Florida won the last game played in College Station, a 41-24 victory on Nov. 11, 2022. Saturday’s matchup will be just the eighth all-time matchup between the 2 schools. A&M leads the series 4-3.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.
