Texas A&M guard Bryson Warren enters transfer portal, per report

Former G-League guard Bryson Warren, who committed to play for Texas A&M this past offseason, has entered the transfer portal after receiving a temporary restraining order (TRO) allowing him to play in 2026, according to a report from On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos.
Warren received his TRO on Wednesday after originally being deemed ineligible by the NCAA on August 19.
Warren has never played college basketball. He started with Overtime Elite out of high school and recently played in the NBA G-League for the Westchester Knicks and Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 14.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists across 72 career G-League games. In addition, Warren signed Exhibit 10 contracts with the Miami Heat in 2024 and the New York Knicks in 2025.
There’s another wrinkle in Warren’s fight for eligibility and a 2026 home in college basketball, too.
The SEC adopted a ban on former professional players returning to college sports on Tuesday, which means that Warren is ineligible to play for Texas A&M or any other SEC program. With the Big Ten, Big 12 and ACC having adopted similar rules against pro players in college sports, Warren’s options are dwindling.
