Texas A&M just added an elite running back to its 2026 recruiting class.
The Aggies beat out the likes of Texas, Alabama and more for 4-star running back KJ Edwards. The Carthage, Texas, native had offers from almost every top program in the country and will be taking his talents to College Station next year.
He shared the news of his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett:

Edwards is one of the very best prospects in the country regardless of position. He’s the No. 47 overall player and the No. 3 running back in the nation for the 2026 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. Edwards is also regarded as the No. 7 player from the state of Texas.
Listed at 5-foot-10, Edwards attends Carthage High School. He took an official visit to Texas A&M this past weekend prior to making this announcement. The Aggies initially offered him a scholarship back in April of 2024, so they’ve been recruiting him for more than a year.
Texas A&M is off to a great start in the class of 2026. The group now includes 17 recruits, 15 of whom are considered to be blue-chip prospects. The class ranks No. 6 in the country per 247Sports Composite rankings.
