Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed had to change phone number due to doxxing incident, per report

Texas A&M quarterback Marcel Reed was forced to change his phone number after the Aggies’ Week 3 home loss to Kentucky because of a doxxing incident, according to a report by On3 on Friday afternoon.
Carter Karels, who covers Texas A&M for On3, was reportedly told by Reed himself about the phone number change. Reed and the Aggies suffered a brutal loss at home to an underdog Kentucky team last Saturday, handing Texas A&M its first loss of the season and dropping the Aggies to No. 23 in the latest AP Poll.
Doxxing is the intentional revelation of a person’s private information online without that person’s consent, and it often comes along with malicious intent.
“I kind of had a feeling it happened, because I got calls like back to back to back to back,” Reed told Karels.
“I’m pretty sure I got called from like 18 different states. But I didn’t answer a single one. Some you would see like the new voicemail thing, you can see like the words at the bottom. So, I eventually turned my phone off and just ended up watching college football for the rest of the night. I didn’t pay any mind to it.”
