Texas A&M’s efforts to hire Louisville receivers coach Garrick McGee have been unsuccessful, per a report.

According to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, McGee has twice turned down offers from the Aggies to join their staff. Instead, McGee intends to stay at Louisville.

McGee arrived at Louisville earlier this offseason. He was previously the WR coach at Purdue under new head coach Jeff Brohm. Receiver Charlie Jones had a career-year with McGee as his coach last season, catching 110 passes for 1,361 yards.

It’s unclear what role Texas A&M was offering to McGee. The Aggies already have a WR coach on staff in James Coley.

Texas A&M has made a number of changes to its coaching staff this offseason, including at offensive coordinator. Bobby Petrino has been hired as the Aggies’ play-caller for the 2023 season.
