No. 8 Texas A&M will kick off the season at home vs. Missouri State in Week 1. The Aggies now know the quarterback they’ll have to prepare for. Missouri State is going with transfer Skyler Locklear as its starter for the season opener, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
The 5-foot-11 senior spent his first 2 seasons at Austin Peay and his last 2 seasons at UTEP. Locklear made 16 starts with the Miners in 2024-2025. The Clayton, NC native has amassed 3,071 yards and 24 touchdowns through the air while also rushing for 10 scores during his career.
Locklear was regarded by the 247Sports Transfer Rankings as the No. 141 quarterback in the portal.
