JaBarrius Garror, one of the top prospects out of the state of Alabama in the 2027 cycle, announced on Friday that he will play college football at Texas.

Garror is a 4-star edge who hails from Vigor high school in Mobile, Alabama, and he chose the Longhorns over elite offers from programs including Alabama, Georgia, Florida State, Michigan and Oregon, to name a few.

247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins called Garror a pesky defender with video game-like production. Across his sophomore and junior seasons, for example, Garror compiled 42.5 sacks and 88.5 tackles for loss — simply absurd numbers, even at the high school level. A versatile athlete, Garror also played tight end for Vigor HS.

Garror is the 7th top 150 prospect added to Texas’s growing 2027 class. He’s also the 3rd edge addition, joining 4-stars Cameron Hall and Derwin Fields.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Garror is considered to be the No. 110 overall prospect in the country, as well as the No. 12 edge rusher and No. 4 player out of the state of Alabama.
